The new wave quartet -Raphaël Bressler (vocals), Glenn Le Meur (guitar), Jim Bodeman (bass), and Romain Segu (drums) – unfurls dark, elegant music where synthetic layers, hypnotic bass lines, and staccato rhythms sculpt a dense, danceable gothic universe. Melancholy and tension abound as we navigate through indelible memories, fragments of a past that refuses to fade away. Shadows cling to the light. A self-proclaimed heir to Depeche Mode, Joy Division, and The Cure, Lone Assembly nevertheless asserts a contemporary signature carried by impeccable production and a dark, romantic black-and-gray visual aesthetic. Originally from Manchester, shaped by the punk, rave, and garage scenes, David Shaw has carved out his own path through a career as rich as it is unclassifiable: member of Blackstrobe, half of the duo DBFC, collaborator with Vitalic and Jennifer Cardini, electro producer under the alias Siskid… Under his own name, he claims a unique artistic identity that fuses cold wave, techno, and industrial pop. Live, everything accelerates, a twilight and hypnotic adrenaline rush, a powerful apotheosis where the energy of the club collides with sweaty bodies.
